Narcolepsy is chronic sleep disorder characterized by excessive sleepiness and frequent daytime sleep attacks. It is a chronic disease of the central nervous system.

Exact cause is unknown. But, may be Causes are-

 - Hypocretin/ reduced amounts of a protein
 - Stress

What are the Symptoms?
- Falling asleep suddenly and uncontrollably (last for 15 min to 5 hours)
 - Periods of extreme drowsiness during the day
 - Sudden loss of muscle control
 - Sleep paralysis
 - Dream-like hallucinations when falling asleep or waking up
 - Fatigue

Following Complications may occur-
- Increased risk of a car accident, while driving/walking on road
 - Difficulty with social activities
 - Public misunderstanding of the condition
